Hooray!

Sorry I've been gone so long!  I managed to get a nasty virus on my computer and it took the hubby 3 separate times to finally get it fixed!  I hate mean people!

So here is a post I wrote over a week ago...

So a few things for you:
1.       1.   I’ve been off the internet for a few days, and geesh, it is not easy!  I need a support group, but they are probably all internet-based!
2.      2.   My hubby finished the office for now.  It still needs to be painted, but that is the #1 home improvement job he hates the most.  But what he has finished (re-facing the cabinets, new knobs, and painting the wall unit – it used to be stained dark wood) looks FABulous!
3.      3.   And I have realized we have NOT been good about taking before photos L  Boo.  I searched through all of my photos from the time we moved in 18 months ago and not a single photo of the office.  Stinks.  Sorry.
4.      4.   Lastly, I realized that oh my word has my Big One (BO) grown and changed so very much in the last six months!  It is crazy!  I knew that her language skills and even her motor skills have improved ten fold, but she went from looking like a baby to a real toddler.  It is really nuts.

…and to continue from my last post about time flying, the other night I had to put away all of Little One's (LO) newborn clothes.  Most of which she didn’t get a chance to wear, she just grew so darn fast!  We are all done having babies, but it still made me a little teary.

So I’ve attached a couple of pictures from the Office Redo.  Enjoy.

…and two pictures of BO.  One from May of last year and one from this month.  Geesh…

 Seriously.  Time flies.

Time Flies!

So Little One is 2 months old (yesterday)!  It is crazy how fast the time went.  As a friend of mine said, maybe everything is a blur.... probably more accurate!

So Little One is smiling, she has great head/neck control (just like Big One did), loves to stand - assisted of course - and is a fantastic bubble blower!  Knock on wood, she is a great sleeper too, as a matter of fact, EIGHT wonderful hours for the first time last night!

She really is a great baby.  She fusses when she is hungry or has gas.  She is getting better about being put in her bouncy seat, but definitely prefers to be held.  I can't blame her.

Big One is a great big sister.  She checks on LO when she is crying or fussy.  She loves giving her the pacifier and bouncing her in the bouncy seat.  BO's language skills just blow our minds!  New words nearly every day!  And so observant.  She is really picking up on all the little things around her.  Boy do we need to be careful!!

So fun being the mommy to these two little girls.  Certainly there are days where I feel like I'm going to lose my mind... like yesterday, but in my defense, I am also sick... I am so very blessed, and they make me a better person.

Happy 2 months, Little One!

Can't sit still

I have a hubby that can't sit still... heh... did you think this post was about me?!  You must not know me well ;)

Seriously, even when he isn't feeling well, it kills him to veg on the couch.  Or in bed if he is sick.  Or anywhere.

He paints.  He does wood work.  He insulates.  He builds.  He works on the car.  He does yard work.

I am very lucky, I know that.

The latest project is refacing the cabinets in our office.  He spends more time in there than I do because he has a desktop, so the 1990's white cabinets and the half.... um.... half-done... built-ins that are half white and half stained have been driving him nuts since we moved in 18 months ago.

So far I have only seen the pieces, and it is just primered right now, but I'm sure it is going to look 100% better when he is done.

Somehow I know I'm going to be dragged into the project to clean the clutter out of the room.  And probably today, as his family is coming to visit this weekend.

At least I'm not painting, right??

Pictures to come:
1.  When he finishes
2.  When I figure out how to attach them.

PS - are you surprised that he already has another project ready to get moving when this one is done?  You are?  Well, then, you must not know him very well! ;)

Sacrifices

I am a self-confessed dairyaholic.  Milk.  Cheese.  Chocolate.  Ice Cream.  Mmmmmm ice cream...

Apparently the newest member of our family does not appreciate my obsession.

I have two choices.

1.  Continue to partake in the love of dairy.  Mmmmm chocolate.... sorry, I digress.  So, where was I?  Oh yes, continue my life as I know it eating lots and lots of dairy products, and as a result have a very gassy and very irritable baby who will not sleep.

or

2.  Step away from the dairy.

Sigh.... so, my friends, who has some yummy ideas for meals and snacks sans dairy?

Because I am tired.

PS - who knew it took 2-3 weeks for dairy to leave your system?!  Geesh...

New Year's Resolutions... Meh

So I've joined the world of the bloggers.  I probably won't be very entertaining, most likely I'll ramble... so don't say I didn't warn you!

I'm not much for New Year's resolutions.  Yes, I've made them.  No, I haven't kept them.  I mean, really, has anyone really kept one all year long?

At any rate, this is my attempt at keeping a record of entertaining things that happen in our life.  And perhaps I'll throw in a craft or two.  Really, I'm just a beginner in that area...

I'll start with this one.  One of my older daughter's favorite things to tell every visitor in our home is "Mommy take away toys.  In basement."  Nice.  Just to be clear, she deserved it.  And it wasn't permanent!  Heh....
