My Chatterbox

Big One is 2 1/2.  She does not stop talking.  All.Day.Long.

There are worse problems to have.  I know this, trust me.

But holy moly.

It starts when I walk in her room each morning, "Good morning, Mommy!  Did you have a nice nap?  I wake up!  I'm hungry!"  It instantly puts a smile on my face.

She "talks" on her calculator (thanks Easter Bunny) to Papa several times a day.  She talks to her trains (thanks again, Easter Bunny), the first is Mommy, the second is Daddy, and the third is Big One (of course).

She tosses her Little People or Baby Doll or whatever toy off the table and says, "Oh no, Baby doll, you fall down!  Are you ok?  Need to kiss your boo boo?"  It goes on and on.  Rather comical as she is the one that chucks them off whatever large object she can find.  As least she is kissing the boo boos?!

As cute as all of that is.... we are trying to work on waiting patiently while other people get a word in edge-wise... I mean.... speak.  Anyone have any tips?  Because, geesh!

But didn't she look adorable all dressed up for Easter?

 Cheese!!
Unfortunately, the one of us as a fam came out blurry.  Sad.

Happy Easter!

From my family to yours!

Please ignore the terrified Big One, the Little One who wouldn't look at the camera, the Mom who was clearly talking between pictures, and the Dad who was losing his patience.

At least we didn't have to wait in line for 3 hours like at Christmas.  Thank you Fast Pass!  5 minute wait equals a much happier family (read: Hubster).

See that adorable dress Little One is wearing?  That used to be mine!

Big One Brag

So I'm going to be that mom for a minute.

My Big One just turned 2 1/2.  I'm constantly amazed at the things she is learning.  Numbers and counting.  Her alphabet.  Letters.

So the hubster came downstairs after putting her to bed last night and asked me if I knew Big One knew how to spell her name?!

We have her name on one of her walls.  Whenever I bring her up for nap or bedtime I point to each letter and tell her what it is.  Well, apparently she did that for him!

She has done it several times since last night.

I'm pretty proud of her!!

Ok, brag over.  Time for bed.

Dr. Ferber

Dr. Ferber is my hero.  It is so nice to know that it doesn't have to be *me* putting Little One to sleep for naps and bedtime.  I do not mind it, but it is a sigh of relief that if I have to be somewhere that she willllllll go to sleep for my hubby, at least.

Today I put her down for a morning nap awake.  Awake!  She fell asleep without crying at all.  Amazing!

Bedtime is proving to be a tad more difficult.  But she has still not made it to the 15 minute check-up awake.  I'll take it.

And only 1 wake up in the middle of the night to eat!

Miracles I tell ya!  Miracles!

Let's just hope I didn't jinx myself.  heh.

Oooooh and Little One turned 5 months old on Sunday.  She is talking (and whining) up a storm.  She loves her feet.  She can roll in each direction, but would rather not.  Heh.  She watches us eat like she is going to jump up and gobble it up without you noticing!  She is laughing.  She loves to stand (assisted of course).  She can grab and get objects at will.

Ok need to run and grab her out of the bumbo!

Oops

Sorry, I didn't mean to be away for so long!

Things have been a tad hectic around here.  I had 8 orders for my Crayon Rolls in the first two days.  My kids wouldn't sleep.  My husband was working a crazy schedule.....

And my best friend from college and her boyfriend came to visit.  We had a fabulous time.  She hadn't met Little One yet because I haven't seen her since August (at her 30th birthday bash in the City where I was ginormously pregnant).  We had a great time catching up, shopping, eating, drinking, and playing board games.  Yes.  Very exciting.

I did find a fabulous dress for a wedding that I will be attending in June!  So check that off of my to-do list!

I did some sewing/packaging over the weekend as well.

And threw together an amazing pasta salad and ice cream pie dessert for our Family Friend Get Together (read: 7 Adults and 4 Toddlers and 4 Babies under 8 months).

It was a bit hectic.  But tons of fun.

Oh and had a piano delivered (the one my Dad played when I was growing up).

So yeah.  I'll try to be better!

Did you miss me?

New Baby!!

So I've known that my girlfriend was going to have a baby for about.... 7 months or so.

Yesterday she was 39 weeks pregnant.  I have known for about 7 months that I was going to sew her a baby gift.

Apparently it took a text message telling me her water broke and she just received her epidural for me to get my rear in gear!

The good news is I was able to get the gift in the mail tonight.  It should be there in a couple of days.  Maybe even before they get home from the hospital.  We shall see.

I'm still waiting on details, but if you can keep Baby Girl in your prayers it would be much appreciated.  They are having a bit of trouble regulating her sugar levels.

Welcome to the world Baby Girl!  We can't wait to meet you!!

...I'd settle for a picture though :)

Oh and PS - I forgot to snap a picture.  Boooo!

Reconnecting

I know some people think that social networking sites are silly.  But as a mom with two little ones, a husband, and all of the other things going on in life, I really don't have a lot of extra time to be on the phone.... or traveling to see all of the people I love and miss.  Heh, or the money.

But what I love most about those sites is reconnecting with old friends; friends you lost touch with for one reason or another.  It really is great.  And easy.  And on my own time.  Fabulous.

I reconnected with a friend awhile ago.  We had a bit of a falling out several years back, mainly about our lives going in different directions.  I heard from her last night.  She is on top of the moon.  I'm thrilled for her.  She deserves all of the amazing-ness coming her way!  It is so nice to see when all of the things you know this person should have finally just show up on her doorstep.  Love it.  Makes me happy.

So yes.  This is vague.  And I'm rambling.  So now I'm done.
